Keegan DeWitt is confirmed to support Jeremy Messersmith on a June east coast tour. The tour will take the Nashville-based DeWitt and his band from the Southgate House in Cincinnati, OH, on June 13th to DC9 in Washington, DC, on June 19th, and includes a New York show at the Mercury Lounge on June 18th.

DeWitt wrapped up Daytrotter’s 4th Barnstormer tour in late April, playing alongside artists including Sondre Lerche, Guards, and The Romany Rye. A video of footage from the week-long series of shows is currently up on his official site, set to his recently released new song “Thunder Clatter”: www.keegandewitt.com (also here). “Thunder Clatter,” which will be featured on an upcoming new EP due out later this summer, premiered on AOL Music’s Spinner last month and can also now be downloaded and shared via here.

Named one of Paste’s ’10 Best New Solo Artists of 2010,’ DeWitt released a limited edition 7-inch single, Two Hearts/Reluctance, in December, and an EP, Nothing Shows, last July via Daytrotter’s Record Barn as the site’s first exclusive release. He first gained recognition for his film scores and his work most recently was seen theatrically in Aaron Katz’s New York Times ‘Critic’s Pick’ Cold Weather. Two of DeWitt’s scores premiered at the SXSW film festival this year, too: in official selection No Matter What, directed by Cherie Saulter, and in the short film “Remigration,” directed by Barry Jenkins (Medicine For Melancholy). He also recently collaborated with the cycling gear company Rapha, composing a suite for their coverage of the Amgen Tour of California.
