Let’s get this out of the way up front: if goofy, often absurdist humor is not your thing, stay far away from Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! In fact, it’s probably best you stop reading this review and just move on to more productive things.

Ok, now that those born without a sense of humor have moved on, can you believe these guys have found a channel brave enough to host their show? And for five season, no less. Season five is every bit as odd and often laugh-out-loud funny as the previous offerings. The spot on, faux Saturday Night Live opening sequence of the first episode sets the tone for the series perfectly.

Guest cameos for season 5, a trademark of the show, include Will Farrell and John C. Reilly (as health TV correspondent Dr. Steve Brule – quite possibly the show’s funniest reoccurring skit), as well as Zach Galiafinakis, David Cross, Ted Danson and Lamar Burton (yes, that Lamar Burton).

Yeah, the show manages to skirt the line between hilarious and seemingly just being weird for the sake of being weird (I was pretty sure I’d never have to write this line, but dudes lactating is not really as funny as they’d have you believe), but it’s far more original than most of the stuff that passes for comedy on TV. Season 5 also includes the somewhat controversial episode “Lucky”, though it doesn’t really stand out as any more offensive than anything else on the show. Regardless, Great Job!
