Pucker has been a mainstay of a great many college parties over the course of the time that I’ve been floating around college campuses, and I have no doubt in my mind that this will continue. However, Pucker has released a set of vodkas that look to update the brand’s image in 2011. We received a bottle of the Pucker Sour Apple Vodka, which will go head to head with Pinnacle, Three Olives, and any of the other multitude of other spirits houses that are created flavored vodkas.
The price of the Sour Apple Vodka ($15) places it right in the hunt for anyone that may be in the market for a flavored vodka, while the immediate mouthfeel will remind imbibers of Jolly Ranchers. After the first sip, individuals will be hooked. The balance between the sour and apple sides of this vodka feel fairly natural, rather than having the fragrance and flavor overwhelm all sides of the spirit.

Pucker’s experience in the schnapps realm has made the Sour Apple Vodka into a necessary addition to the stocked bar; aside from being able to create some amazing Apple Bombs, individuals will be able to shoot it without any problem.

There are a number of other Pucker Vodka flavors currently on the market, so make sure to check them out even if you are not a fan of the Sour Apple flavor. I personally feel that the Pucker Vodkas occupy a place above the traditional flavored schnapps, and are able to provide imbibers with a solid vodka base without loading them up with sugar or any other sort of flavorings. Pick up a bottle or see if you can buy a shot at your local bar – you will not be disappointed.
