For the past couple months, Psychic Babble has been giving a glimpse into his multi-layered forthcoming debut LP, My Brother’s Ears/My Sister’s Eyes, premiering songs with SPIN and Alternative Press as well as his Facebook. Now, with two weeks to go before the album’s release, the enigmatic musician has packaged those three songs together as a free digital EP he’s calling My Own Stupid Mouth. The four-song download features album opener “Five Fold Kiss (Don’t Sleep) (previously only available via Facebook), “You Said It,” (premiered on SPIN.com), “Samantha” (premiered on AltPress.com) and “A Ride To The Country,” a previously unreleased b-side that is not included on the LP. The EP can be downloaded for free here.

Psychic Babble is the musical alias of Philadelphia-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Colin Frangicetto. His debut LP, a 10 track collection five years in the making, is inspired by everything from The Beach Boys and Peter Gabriel to Ride and Radiohead, and is an expansive listen that distills a variety of influences into a heady concoction ranging from lo-fi bedroom confessionals to dream-pop and reverb-drenched shoegaze.

In celebration of the release of My Brother’s Ears/My Sister’s Eyes, Psychic Babble will have a FREE hometown listening party at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadelphia this Friday, August 5. In addition to the album being played in its entirety, Frangicetto, also an established visual artist, will display a collection of new artworks.

My Brother’s Ears/My Sister’s Eyes will be released August 16 on Yenta Records. The LP is available for pre-order HERE and can be purchased on limited edition blue, pink and yellow color vinyl.
