Vieux Farka Touré will be returning to the US for a Summer Tour not to be missed. His third studio album, The Secret, continues to receive rave reviews from Rolling Stone to NPR Music. His live shows have been paired down to a “power trio” consisting of Vieux on vocals/guitar, Mamadou Sidibe on bass, and drummer/multi-percussionist Tim Keiper rounding out the lineup. The live show has turned heads from the Los Angeles Times stating, “…this is a musician who, in live performance, has clear ideas about where he’s going, and why” to The Denver Post saying, “Touré is captaining a new sound that splices denser, more exploratory and surging guitar work –- a la improvised rock-and-roll — into African blues, creating a hypnotic, captivating brew.”

The album hit the Billboard and iTunes World Music Charts out of the gate and stayed at #1 in the CMJ World Music Charts for 4 weeks, which ultimately landed him on the front cover of CMJ Magazine.

The Secret, released on May 24 on Six Degrees Records was produced by guitarist Eric Krasno (of Soulive fame) and features Dave Matthews, Derek Trucks, John Scofield, Ivan Neville, and his late father Ali Farka Touré. More dates to be Announced.
