EMA – who has been lauded by SPIN (‘Best Albums of 2011 So Far’), Rolling Stone (‘Artist To Watch’), Pitchfork (‘Best New Music’), Flaunt, and Nylon, among many others around her debut album Past Life Martyred Saints (Souterrain Transmissions) – premiered her new video for upcoming single “Marked” yesterday on Pitchfork. Directed, filmed, and produced in-house by EMA (Erika M. Anderson) and Leif Shackelford (who also performs with EMA), the captivating and simply arresting B&W clip can also now be seen here: http://vimeo.com/28938236.

A Marked single will be released in the US digitally and as a limited edition 7-inch in early December. B-side “Angelo”, a new track featuring a guest verse by Mz’Gorjis of Oakland, CA’s Platnum Platnum Glam Squad, will complement the gorgeously dark, breathy reverie of “Marked”.

Currently overseas playing European festivals and headlining shows, EMA will return to the US in October for a month-long run of dates that was featured as one of SPIN.com’s ’30 Best Fall Tours’ and includes a headlining slot at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on October 20th during the CMJ Music Marathon (tickets go on sale today at 12pm ET here). She and her band will first support Wild Beasts on the west coast from October 7th-13th and then CSS and MEN on the east coast and in the south from October 21st-30th. Throughout these supporting dates, EMA will also headline previously announced shows at The Independent in San Francisco on October 12th and The Casbah in San Diego on October 14th, and co-headline The Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix with Washed Out on October 15th. Following her US tour dates, she’ll head back to Europe in November for more headlining shows and a three-show set supporting Zola Jesus in the UK.

EMA’s debut Daytrotter session is also now online, featuring “Marked” and other Past Life Martyred Saints cuts “Butterfly Knife” and “California”, as well as previously unreleased song “F*ckin’ Around”: http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/ema-concert/20055007-3738525.html. A stripped-down live session for Baeble Music’s ‘Guest Apartment’ series can also be seen here, while a Yours Truly x Pitchfork solo performance, filmed at the Pitchfork Music Festival in July, can be seen here.
