Fifteen year old Pop and Dance music singing sensation Devon Brooke is set to release her highly anticipated Fortified Records debut CD, This Is My Time, featuring the chart climbing hit single, “Heartbeat” in August, 2011. Since its release, “Heartbeat” racked up an amazing 998 spins in one week alone on broadcast and Internet radio, setting the pace for an album destined to dominate the charts. In only two weeks, “Heartbeat” charted number 20 on the Top 40 Rhythmic New Release Chart!

This Is My Time is a Pop and Dance music indulgence with elements of Hip Hop and R&B. It’s youth driven songs that will not only make you dance your heart out, but stimulate your thoughts as you rock out to songs with lyrics written by Devon about real life situations that young people face every day. She says, “Songwriting is an outlet for me. I write about anything that crosses my mind, anything that’s bothering me…things that make me happy, things about my mom or my troubles with my dad. And yes, boy troubles! For instance, the lyrics to…“Heartbeat” are like, do you think you know me by the style of my hair. I was thinking about people judging me by the way I look or the things I say when I wrote that. I just wanted to let people know they don’t have to listen to what others say about them. That’s kind of what I go through in school. It just bothers me to know how many people listen to others, spread rumors, and talk about them.”

Other stand out cuts on This Is My Time include “Real,” “Out Of Bounds” and “Another Way.” Radio programmers across the nation, from San Francisco to Birmingham can’t get enough of the single. DJ Guru (The Remix Rock Star) says, “Heartbeat is a smash. I’m putting it in full rotation!” Da Cave Radio adds, “Her voice is truly amazing.”

The eldest of five children of Registered Nurse, LaKeisha Champen, the child prodigy was born in upstate New York and grew up in Ansonia, CT. Even though she lost her father early on, the Ansonia High School student and star athlete was encouraged by her family to use her singing and songwriting gifts, which helped her cope. So she started singing at the tender age of five, performing all over the state of Connecticut on her way to stardom. By age thirteen she’d won the Jr. American Idol talent competition and there was no stopping her. Devon’s rich musical background is an eclectic musical mix of influences, starting with R&B sounds of Alicia Keys, Luther Vandross and Aretha Franklin. Her Pop and Dance stylings come from listening to her idols, Riahanna and Ke$ha. The mesh of diverse musical influences make for a talent the world is yet to behold in Devon Brooke.

Devon’s multi-octave captivating voice is mature beyond her years. It crosses generations, genres and musical tastes to reach a diverse audience. That wide appeal helped land her the deal with Fortified Records. A friend and artist at the label caught her performance on at a school program. This lead to an audition at the label and a quick signing. Her label head Paul Pontillo can’t praise the rising star enough. He says, “She’s one of the greatest young voices in the industry. Her ability to project her life into her music is like no other.”

Devon Brooke, with her undeniable talent, divine looks and her new CD, This Is My Time, is set to take on the world. Howard Rosen, Owner of Howie Wood Radio Promotions said it best, “Devon Brooke is Platinum Bound!”
