Prussia’s music is energetic, poppy- and melodious. You feel like dancing, though there’s no way in hell you would describe this as dance music. Waltzes, African drum beats, acapella breakdowns, and the gentle ringing of sleigh bells all fit into their unique arrangements naturally.

Over the next three months the Detroit band will be a series of 10″‘s called the Poor English series. Part 1 of this three part series is due out August 16th.

The Poor English series is comprised of swaggering drum loops, intricate guitar compositions, and buttery vocal harmonies all supporting the sweet nasal crooning of singer Ryan Spencer. Stories of suicide, misogyny, sexual vacancy, and the crippling ennui of illusory love all weave in and out of catchy pop songs. Lyrically, it’s T.S. Eliot’s drunken scribbling on a bathroom wall.

Having already shared the stage with Fiery Furnaces, The Flaming Lips, Quasi, EMA, Dr. Dog, Islands, Beach House, and tUnE-YaRdS, Prussia is also headed back out on the road with El Ten Eleven.
