In the last decade or so, there has been a monopoly in terms of wrestling games that are on the market. The TNA Impact video game did not do as well as it should have in bringing the company’s unique flair to consoles, while the variety of Japanese wrestling games are usually passed over for the American market. Hulk Hogan’s Main Event is a serious contender for wrestling fan’s video game budget, but the game is not just a rehash of others on the market.

Rather, I feel that the title recalls Backyard Wrestling in terms of the liberal feeling it has. Rather than being forced to do chops, kicks, and other standard fare, the specials that are captured during Hulk Hogan’s Main Event go far beyond what most humans could take in terms of wrestling moves. The keyword for Hulk Hogan’s Main Event has to be replayability – there is a party gaming atmosphere to the title that will have parties or groups of players spinning the disc long after they have beaten the title.

The use of the Kinect technology will insert players much more into the game than would normally be present in the WWE titles – the intensity at which players enter into the Hulk Hogan’s Main Event experience translates directly to their character on screen. The tutorial does a great job in decreasing the learning curve, as well as establishing a solid foundation for which players can then build off of. I would like to see Hulk Hogan’s Main Event released in a semi-yearly format – I believe that continuing with the storylines and larger than life feel of this title would do well should Majesco begin to bring this title over to the PS3, DS, or any other future console.

  1. I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing issues with your site. It appears as if some of the text in your posts are running off the screen. Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them as well? This could be a problem with my web browser because I’ve
    had this happen before. Thanks

  2. I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and
entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something too few folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I came
across this in my hunt for something relating to this.
