Idlewild guitarist / songwriter Rod Jones, is back with a remarkable new solo project, The Birthday Suit. Unfortunately, having only just announced their UK tour, the band have had to postpone heading out on the road due to a recurring shoulder injury. The dates are currently being rebooked and hopefully there will be a new tour announcement very soon.

Rod made this statement:

“It’s with a heavy heart and sincere disappointment that we are forced to postpone the first leg of The Birthday Suit’s debut tour. A recurring shoulder injury has rendered me unable to play for up to 4 weeks. Dundee, Stirling and Glenrothes will go ahead in late Nov/Dec and we will be rescheduling all other dates for a February tour due to venue availability. We are all very thankful for your support and patience.” – Rod Jones

The Birthday Suit’s debut album, The Eleventh Hour, is a return to the noisy pop moments that originally established Rod as a legend in the UK music scene. Although the album is officially released on 11.11.11 at 11am (nice and easy to remember!), the band have made the album available to download from their official website at a special early bird price for fans – £5! It will be available to buy here at that price until the official release on the 11th November.

If you’d like a little free taster of the album before you head on over to grab yourself an early bird copy, the album track “Do You Ever?” is available to download now via the A Badge of Friendship Soundcloud page.
