Since the release of Audra Mae’s acclaimed debut album, The Happiest Lamb, on SideOneDummy Records in May of 2010, the Oklahoma-born singer/songwriter has undergone an exciting transformation. The most obvious change is the presence of her brand new band, aptly named The Almighty Sound. The Almighty Sound is a group of Audra’s close and talented friends including stand-up bassist Joe Ginsberg, guitarist Jarrad Kritzstein, pianist Frank Pedano, drummer Kiel Fehercame, back up vocalist Brent Kyle, and Chelsea Butts (who is also Audra’s sister). Audra also sought out country star Deana Carter (“Did I Shave My Legs for This”) to help write and co-produce. Carter’s presence on the creation of the album adds to the exuberance of Audra Mae and The Almighty Sound.

While The Happiest Lamb showcased Audra Mae’s darker, more dramatic side, the debut EP from Audra Mae & The Almighty Sound is a celebration of Audra’s own blossoming as a performer, spiked with the energy of an enthusiastic band.
