While “bone shakers” The Barr Brothers were in New York City for CMJ, they visited with local bloggers at The Wild Honey Pie and recorded a pair of stunning videos for their Buzzsessions series. In flashlight, the Montreal-based quartet (led by Andrew and Brad Barr, with Andres Vial and Sarah Page) performed two songs off of their debut record. The Wild Honey Pie gave the LP a glowing review, saying: “Without a doubt, The Barr Brothers self-titled album has cemented itself as one of the most diverse and well written this year. Be sure to take the time to really dig into each track — you’ll find something different and astounding each time you listen.”

A unique experience for the eyes and ears, we invite you to sit back and enjoy “Deacon’s Son” and “Cloud (For Lhasa).”

The Barr Brothers are currently on tour in support of their debut self-titled album.

“Precise musicianship, appealing song-craft and intertwining waves of melancholy and joy create a balanced collection of ten songs, an excellent early-morning album to accompany the rising sun.” – Glide Magazine

“…the Barrs craft a world that maintains the soft, contemplative sound of much folk music while teasing the ear with overlapping layers of hums, vibrations, whistles and stomps.” – NPR

“The Barr Brothers’ unusual gear—homemade guitars, hammered dulcimer, an air compressor xylophone—gives their music a mysterious, otherworldly quality.” – Metromix
