We are relatively new to the benefits of an intra-workout, but wanted to provide our inaugural coverage of these products by giving some love to SciVation’s Xtend. We were provided with a bottle of the Lemon-Lime Sour flavor (there are also Watermelon, Grape, Orange, Raspberry and Green Apple flavors available) for purchase. Each bottle contains 30 servings and can be purchased directly from the Scivation online store.

The miscibility of Xtend is considerably better than other intraworkouts that we have used (but not reviewed) in the past. Owing to the materials in many intraworkouts, what one is left with typically is a chunky mess that is pretty hard to down. SciVation removes that problem from Xtend; each sip of the Lemon-Lime Sour is easily an equivalent to a Kool Aid. We’d also suggest using Xtend on off-days, to keep one’s amino acid levels at their maximum.

Xtend provides individuals with a solid amount of L-Leucine (3500 mg), L-Glutamine (2500 mg), L-Isolucine (1750 mg), L-Valine (1750 mg) and Citrulline Malate (1000 mg). Xtend does not contain carbohydrates nor any additional sugar – with 0 grams of fat and cholesterol, those that take Xtend should not have to worry about adding extra sets just to cope with the supplement. What this does is give individuals the energy that they need to complete their workout, along with the materials that their bodies need to repair muscle tissue. Xtend also prevents against the catabolism of lean muscle tissue; taken alongside proper amounts of protein, one should be able to go as hard as they can for a much longer period of time than would normally be present.
