More than a decade ago, in 1999, songwriter and vocalist David-Ivar Herman Dune and drummer Cosmic Neman let go of their secular life and created the French band, Herman Dune. John Peel picked the band as one of his favorites and invited them to more than ten of his glorious Peel Sessions that would allow Herman Dune to perform all over the world. Over the years, they have released many EPs and albums through various labels, most notably Not on Top in 2005 and Next Year In Zion in 2006. Rolling Stone picked their track, “I Wish That I Could See You Soon” as #89 on their list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. Their new single “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” has surfaced with a MTV Hive premiere, and the duo will be returning to North America starting next week in Chicago with a handful of tour dates (complete list below). Their new EP, Tell Me Something I Don’t Know, is slated for a January 17th release date on their own Strange Moosic Records imprint. The video for the title track, featuring Mad Men star Jon Hamm, can be found here. The new record was recorded with Adam Selzer (M Ward, She & Him, Dirty Projectors, The Decemberists) at Type Foundry Studio in Portland, OR.
