On March 13th, 4th Pyramid will release his new album, The Pyramid Scheme. It’s Pyramid’s first album since he signed his Silk Ivory label to a joint deal with Lyrics To Go/Universal Music, and now, following the success of the video for debut single “Webslinger,” the Toronto rapper/producer is excited to release the album’s second single, “So Balboa.”

For “So Balboa,” Pyramid teamed up with two of Toronto’s finest, bringing together a legend, in Saukrates, and fellow up-and-comer, in producer Rich Kidd, for a boisterous hometown anthem. Rich Kidd’s beat, all bass and low-end thump, is the perfect fit for Pyramid’s slick brag-raps, and chant-along hook. “We roll clouds over/ Whole town knows us,” he raps on the chorus. “This shit here, is So Balboa.”

For his part, Saukrates matches the tracks energy, delivering a powerful bridge and showing why he’s widely regarded as one of the T. Dot’s finest and most talented. “When we finished the song I kind of wanted a singing bridge to break up the verses,” explains Pyramid, adding that working with Saukrates was a long-time goal. “Saukrates heard the record and jumped on it right away.” The finished track serves not only as a new single, but for 4th Pyramid, it’s also a statement song: “We’re young kings taking over,” he says. “Get ready”
