The brutality of Haemorrhage’s Hospital Carnage is unparalleled. The presence of cuts like Fomite Fetish and 911 show that the language of metal is world-wide. The band is able to establish their own unique style of metal by taking bits and pieces from some of the biggest acts (Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Anthrax) and inserting their own flavor and flair.
The band flips the album format on its head. Rather than put the weaker tracks towards the latter half of the album, Haemorrhage gradually ramps things up so by the time that Necronatology begins, listeners are shaken to their core. The band’s dynamic is perhaps the most interesting thing heard on Hospital Carnage, as the interplay between guitar/drums, bass/drums, and the overarching vocals heard continually push listeners into bold new places. There is not a weak spot to be heard during Hospital Carnage – Haemorrhage has polished each of the album’s 15 tracks until they glint of steel. Most of the album’s tracks barely make it to two minutes, but the band is able to cram in five or six minutes of material into each.
