It has been a while since we last reviewed a wrestling release. What better product could we receive to mark the re-opening of the wrestling reviews section? TNA (Impact Wrestling) puts on one of their historically best PPVs, and the 2011 edition of the show is no different. The show united some of wrestling’s biggest stars (Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Sting, and Hulk Hogan) with those talents that will be household names for decades to come (Bobby Roode, Velvet Sky). Matches are given enough time for the wrestlers to take a story; the Mr. Anderson and Bully Ray is a match that calls back to the matches of the eighties and nineties, while the RVD / Jerry Lynn match amps up the ring psychology that much more.
The 2011 edition of Bound for Glory is one of the first shows that I have watched to feature a triple main event – longtime fans of TNA will be firmly affixed to their chairs for the A.J. Styles / Christopher Daniels I Quit Match, stick around for the conclusion of the storyline between Hogan and Sting, and watch the all-out way between Roode and Angle.
The video quality of this DVD is further bolstered by the strong camera work and aural quality; one will be completely caught up in the different action that is taking place. The bonus features that are presented here further increase the value of the release, with the different interviews with TNA talent providing a rare look behind the scenes. Check out TNA’s website for a listing of the different live shows and Pay-Per-Views that they will be hosting. If the action presented there is a fraction of what was present here, one would do well to go!
