Touche Amore announced today that they’ll be touring across Canada in late March and April with Cancer Bats and A Sight for Sewn Eyes, and the tour will hit Manitoba, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatoon and Ontario. Prior to the Canadian run, Touche Amore will be out on their biggest support tour to date: a European jaunt with Rise Against in February and March. Also including solo off dates and shows with Pianos Become the Teeth, this tour will canvas almost every nook and cranny in the UK and Europe – all dates are listed below.
Last year was a whirlwind for Touche Amore. The band has spent the year touring hard – appearing at festivals like The Fest, FYF, SXSW, Chaos in Tejas, Hevy Fest (UK), the House of Vans in Brooklyn, and canvas most of the globe, including the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and everywhere in North America. Touche Amore released their Deathwish Inc debut,Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me, to immense critical acclaim earlier this summer and the Washington Post-Express called it “Hardcore punk that recalls pre-Fugazi D.C. band Rites of Spring: raw, ripping and ecstatic.” From the first strikes of their angular yet melodic chords, it’s apparent that Touche Amore have awoken something long forgotten in the hardcore/punk genre. Bringing to mind the balance of rage and melody that “Revolution Summer” era DC bands Rites of Spring and Ignition once carried. Within each song they build an awe inspiring musical tension while impassioned vocalist Jeremy Bolm’s shouts resonate, ripe with intellectual introspection. This collective outpouring of traditional hardcore anger and emotional hardcore openness ultimately coalesces into something beautiful, vulnerable, and refreshingly real.
