Dublin indie rockers Autumn Owls premiered a new song today on AOL Spinner. While demoing tracks for their upcoming LP, a track emerged unlike anything they’d previously written. Knowing that it wouldn’t fit with the other demos, they couldn’t bring themselves to throw it out. So instead they polished the recordings and had ace producer Declan Gaffney do a mix. The song “Acrobatics of a Patchwork Heart” features detuned piano, organic and electronic drums, boreal guitar, a bit of glitch, and singer Gary McFarlane’s velvet-gruff vocal.
The remaining demos will be put to tape in April when the band jets to Chicago to record their debut long player with renowned producer Brian Deck (Califone, Iron & Wine). More details for the album tentatively titled Between Buildings, Toward The Sea will be announced later this year.
