Chicago noise rock royalty THE SWAN KING will be taking their high energy live show on the road this month in support of their critically acclaimed Seventh Rule Recordings debut, Eye Like Knives. Formed in 2009 by Dallas Thomas (Circle of Animals, ex-Asschapel), bassist Jamie Drier (ex-Planes Mistaken For Stars) and Chicago native Zafar Musharraf on drums, THE SWAN KING have shared the stage with hometown heavyweights such as NACHTMYSTIUM, SWEET COBRA and PELICAN as well as countless others.

The Obelisk lauded Eye Like Knives, saying, “opening tracks like “Good Deeds” and “Cloaked into the Façade” are chunky and heavy-landing, modern and brash, reminiscent in some ways of earlier Sweet Cobra, but not as outwardly abrasive. “Peace Love Murder” proves a highlight for the subtle inclusion of melody in Thomas’ playing, the punkish side taking a back seat to something more substantial tonally but still upbeat and vibrant,” while Lambgoat praised it as “a good slab of noise rock that, while certainly on the heavier side of things, devotes more focus to slick guitar work and catchier rock melodies.”

Fans of the Jesus Lizard, Neurosis, King Crimson, and vintage AmRep, take note. As Decibel intoned, “this is a band not just making music, but truly paving a new path for all to follow.” Don’t miss your chance to join the movement.
