This is the perfect sort of bathroom book, as it contains the same sort of acerbic humor that makes The Onion and American Dad shine so much in their respective fields. The sheer anger and bile that is brought to I Hate Everyone by author Matthew DiBenedetti may seem over the top at points, but the points that ey bring up are ones that are common beliefs held.

I like the different set-ups for the establishment of why certain groups and individuals should be hated. Where a straight-laced book would gradually grow style with each subsequent page, the multi-media style of this Adams Media title ensures that one can sit down and immediately get into the swing of things. Furthermore, they will be able to get through a substantial portion of the book before they put it down. The re-readability of this title is considerable, and will undoubtedly do well as a conversation piece or as a coffee table title.

The quality of the writing is easily at the level of a stand-up routine, while the book design allows for these premises to be fleshed out in a way that no comedian could hope to do. Check out DiBenedetti’s bibliography for other titles with a similar bent, and give the Adams Media website a spin – they have an incredible lineup listed for the rest of the year. Don’t worry if you are not a fan of titles like I Hate Everyone – they provide a huge selection of titles in different genres and overall bents.
