“The next breakout band to capture the nation’s imagination” (-All Music Guide ), Sugar & The Hi-Lows self-titled debut has been lauded by Paste, Billboard, The Huffington Post, Blogcritics, Relevant Magazine, Nashville Lifestyle Magazine, and the Nashville Scene to name a few. And the album continues to move up the Americana (#31), Triple A and non-comm radio charts (#61). Following a month long tour with Marc Broussard, they headlined performances in Atlanta, Birmingham and twice in Nashville – at The Billy Reid store and 3rd & Lindsley.  Next the duo will perform at the 2012 SXSW Music Conference in Austin (details below), with their official SXSW showcase on Saturday, 3/17 at Buca Lounge sponsored by Blackbird Artists Agency. And in May, they will join Allen Stone on tour.

In November, Sugar & The Hi-Lows – the duo of Nashville singer-songwriters Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup – debuted “their rockabilly ‘n’ retro soul revue” (-Huffington Post) with the single “See It For Yourself.” The video directed by Becky Fluke (The Civil Wars, The Pistol Annies) premiered recently on theHuffington Post  and is also featured in Paste.  The song has been featured in USA Today‘s “Playlist”,  Buzzbands LA‘s free download of the day, download of the day on MP3.com and Marie Claire‘s March 2012 “What To Download” playlist. It has also received airplay on Triple A and Americana stations such as KGSR-Austin, KRSH-Santa Rosa, WXPN-Philadelphia, WTTS-Indianapolis, and WQKL-Ann Arbor.
