New Jersey’s VOODOO TERROR TRIBE have just released a brand new EP entitled Stands to Reason. The EP is available for purchase at live shows and online HERE on VTT‘s Bandcamp Site. The EP can also be downloaded free of charge at www.vttrocks.com/free. Stands to Reason is the follow up to their latest full length release “Symptoms of Sin”. With this EP VTT, has taken a different approach to their style and sound than what many VTT fans may be used to. This approach however has truly broadened VTT‘s sound and appeal to a larger audience.

In support of their new EP, VTT have confirmed two special shows for this March in New Jersey.

The first show will take place on Saturday March 10th at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ. This performance is part of the Rockit Fest, which is a tribute to Ricky Rockit. Also on the bill are The Dirty Stayouts, Shat, Fistacuffs, Darrow Chemical Co, and The Unknown.

The second show is on March 24th at The Blue Room in Secaucus, NJ and features Sleepy Hollow, Exxplorer, Power Theory and Scars of Envy.

Formed in New Jersey by Emir Erkal on guitars (an Istanbul, Turkey native, moved to USA in order to take his musical career to the next level) and longtime friend T-Bone on drums, the duo soon brought in Primer on bass and topped off this new up and coming alt-metal band with the masterfully vocalized emotional poetry by vocalist Gil Pz…

The charismatic guitar demon and true force behind the band, Emir Erkal explains VOODOO TERROR TRIBE‘s newest approach and sound; “We know the scene, and the scene knows us, but we’re coming at this in full force in a new way with a new sound.” “It feels like the culmination of what we’ve been doing for a long time as VOODOO TERROR TRIBE: power grooves, crushing guitars, catchy, but dark melodies, but taken to a new level,” bassist Primer adds, “it’s a natural progression from Symptoms of Sin, but different than anything on that record.” VOODOO TERROR TRIBE’smelodic-while-still-heavy, radio-ready-but-still-metal sound rides of the shoulders of the vocalist Gil Pz’s definition of what the band should be: “VOODOO TERROR TRIBE doesn’t bolster a false pretense of originality,” he says. “We worry about the songs being good first; originality comes second.”

VOODOO TERROR TRIBE has high hopes for the near future. “We poured everything that we had and everything that we have become into our new sound and songs,” drummer T-Bone continues. “It was meticulous, grueling, stressful and insightful, but we found a new sound. It’s been quite a long road, and now we wanna prove to the fans that it’s all been worth it.”

The official video for Stands to Reason is available for viewing HERE. An EPK can also be seen at this location.

VTT has created a lyric video for the track “Masquerade” which can be viewed HERE. The band is also working on another music video for the track “Twenty12”, a teaser can be viewed HERE.
