The video is also spreading like fire on YouTube, garnering a fantastic 29,000 views in just two days! However this isn’t the first time Morris has gone viral, considering the 400,000 views her cinematic video for “Concrete Waves” received this winter. Feel free to post the videos and spread the love:

Of the video Kendra shares, “‘If You Didn’t Go’ is an extremely visual song and from the day I penned the first word and heard the first vocal melody I had warm colors set in my mind.” She adds, “Jacob (who was an old classmate of Morris’s) has a very distinct eye for mood through his use of colors and the way he collages together small pieces of a bigger picture. It is in this same way that I try to create a mood with the images in my lyrics, my harmonies, tones and vocal arrangements.”

Kendra Morris’s debut longplayer, Banshee, will drop late this summer on Wax Poetics Records.

Established in 2007 as an independent reissue label reflecting the sensibilities of their famed magazine, Wax Poetics Records is now home to current artists Adrian Younge, Chico Mann, and Kendra Morris.
