Orcas aka Haze-pop auteur Benoît Pioulard and post-minimalist composer Rafael Anton Irisarri (The Sight Below) have premiered their new video for “Arrow Drawn” with Noisey. The single is lifted from their self-titled debut album, out this week with Morr MusicConsequence of Sound says the duo “conjure washes of bass-forward sound…peppered with airy lyrics and fleeting repetitive wisps of piano, guitar, and percussion.”Orcas bridges together the furthest aspects of the two’s previous solo work that’s been published on Kranky, Touch, Miasmah, Room40, and Ghostly International. Together, they create a careful balance of chiaroscuro elements, where pop hook and spatial ambience converge. Orcas has taken an immersive, fluid vector for their passions; a resonant call like sonar from the depths.
