White Rabbits are an act that have been riding a wide of success from It’s Frightening. Milk Famous is the band’s latest title, and is one that sends the White Rabbits in a bold new direction. Heavy Metal is the first track on the album, and it immediately breaks ties with the conceptions that listeners may have about the band. The track is the longest on the album – nearly 4:30 – but it has to be. With the band attempting to capture the minds and hearts of listeners in the same way as they did with their debut, hammering home this different sound is vital for the disc’s success.

I’m Not Me follows up this introductory salvo, and it builds off of the work originally created by Heavy Metal. By laying down subsequent layers of their sound on Everyone Can’t Be Confused, Are You Free, and The Day You Won The War, White Rabbits create a coherent album from top to bottom.

White Rabbits end their Milk Famous with I Had It Coming. In this track, the act presents listeners with a self-referential track. I believe that they are more than a little pensive about the album as it ultimately lays. However, the band shouldn’t worry – this is a success both in terms of overall quality and in creating a bold new way in which to enjoy the act. Make sure that you see them live whenever you get a moment, and pick up a copy of both of their albums to see the work in establishing this new identity. Simply fantastic.
