I like the fact that Nick Jr. (and releasing company Anchor Bay) have been on point with the timeliness of the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! releases. There are a number of childrens’ shows that do not receive a DVD release, or get a release years after the show has originally aired. By capturing each collection of episodes soon after they are originally shown, sales will be stronger and more significant interest will be generated in the show. This DVD collection contains 6 episodes, regaling viewers with Wubbzy’s exploits. This time around, Wubbzy has to assist Walden from a frightening jellygator and has to don eir detective mantle to find something that has been lost. Other episodes this time out has eir shrink to fit into a dollhouse and has to deal with the ramifications of fantasy becoming reality.

This DVD is 82 minutes long, and the episodes can stand up through repeat viewing. The animation style is unique enough that first-time viewers will be scouring the screen to see what exactly has been included.

Here’s to hoping that season 3 will begin soon; until that time, the 6 episodes that are present on A Wuzzleburg Tale should be enough to keep children happy. As always, A Wuzzleburg Tale is value priced (online retailers are offering preorders for the title at under $14), and the DVD should be considerable as a gift for a little one’s birthday or for doing chores.

Rating: 8.7/10
