Capitol recording artist, COLIN MUNROE announces his first string of US tour dates with K. Flay kicking off May 29 in San Diego and continuing throughout the summer (dates below). To coincide with the tour announcement Colin is debuting the track ‘Your Eyes’ ft/ K. Flay exclusively on Jay-Z’s Life + Times http://lifeandtimes.com/lifetimes-premiere-colin-munroe-your-eyes, where after you can download at ColinMunroe.com.  All the while building up to the release of his mixtape Unsung Hero premiering later this summer via a partnership with Karmaloop  http://www.karmaloop.com/plus/Colin-Munroe.

Colin has already launched two new tracks from Unsung Hero. First, the epic and understated “The Fight of My Life” which features Grammy-nominated artist Pusha T over a sample of Tender Mercy by London-based Goth Pop band Au Palais. The Second track, “Invincible” generated by Grammy-winning music producer and founding Wu-Tang Clan member, RZA featuring Memoryhouse.

Fans got a chance to interact directly with the Invincible track when Capitol partnered with Aurasma, the world’s first visual browser, to create an augmented reality music lyric video/installation in support of the song.  By simply downloading the free Aurasma Lite app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play, fans can point their mobile devices at the ‘trigger’ image below of Colin and watch the lyrics to “Invincible” come to life before their eyes.

Colin Munroe is an archetype of the “playlist” music generation. As he emerges in 2012 with a new body of work fans can expect Colin to unleash his fresh, urban alternative side.   As a young, small-town homeschooler, Colin fell in love with his father’s LPs from the 60s and 70s; he left home for Toronto at the age of 18 and started hanging out with MCs and DJs.  He was soon writing and producing for them. Self-taught, Munroe writes, produces, and performs nearly all of his own music, mixing the ideas and aesthetics of ‘pop’ and ‘underground’ effortlessly.

Look for Colin Munroe’s mixtape dropping early this summer, and a debut album release via EMI Music early next year.
