Denver’s Breathe Carolina – David Schmitt and Kyle Even – are enjoying continued success with their third full-length studio album Hell Is What You Make It as the first single “Blackout” climbs to #18 on the Top 40 Chart and was certified gold last week. Originally released by Fearless Records in July 2011, the band inked a deal with Columbia Records in December 2011 and is set to hit the road on a co-headlining tour of the US in April with The Ready Set and Ashland High opening. Schmitt and Even started making music together in 2007 after their earlier bands broke up and they found themselves housemates in the suburbs of Denver. After setting up a MySpace page and gaining a bit of notoriety, they signed to Rise Records to release their debut album It’s Classy, Not Classic (September 2008). This led to a year of non-stop touring and a new deal with Fearless Records for their sophomore album Hello Fascination. Released August 18th, 2009, the album debuted at #43 on the Billboard 200 . In early 2011, the band began recording Hell Is What You Make It with producer Ian Kirkpatrick (Neon Trees, Plain White T’s).
