Carpinteria, California’s SOUVENIRS, the newest addition to 6131 Records roster, premiered “Sinker”, the second song from their upcoming EP, Tired of Defending You on Consequence of Sound today. The single, which can be heard here: http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/05/check-out-souvenirs-sinker-cos-premiere/, encapsulates their contemporary take on a sound originally pioneered by the likes of late-90s musical giants Braid, Pavement and Mineral.

Tired of Defending You will be available both digitally and on vinyl June 5th, 2012. It was recorded at the legendary Atomic Garden Studios this spring with producer Jack Shirley (Joyce Manor, Whirr, Punch) in between a heavy touring schedule which saw the band touring the West Coast and Southwest with Set Your Goals, The Story So Far, Pentimento and Light Years among others. In support of the new EP, Souvenirs will embark on a cross-country tour, linking up with friends for selected dates along the way including Xerxes, The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die, and You Blew It! (tour dates below).

Alternative Press premiered the EP’s first single, “Sucker” in April on their website to acclaim (http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/premiere_souvenirs_sucker), and “Sinker” will only bolster the impression the young band has started to make on the public. Melodic, brooding and texturally lush, the five tracks on Tired of Defending You soundly prove that not only is emo/post hardcore still relevant – it also continues to be a vital and innovative musical force in today’s indie rock landscape.

Souvenirs is Tim Riley (vocals, guitar), Vincent Amador (guitar), Travis Turpin (drums) and Nolan Nunes (bass).
