Doug Benson, king of all things pot and movies, is back to talk about his favorite subjects and joke around in his new double CD, Smug Life, released by Comedy Central Records on July 3rd.

However, this time he is trying a grand social experiment. Two shows were recorded live on April 20, 2012 at Parlor Live Comedy Club in Bellevue, WA. The first show was performed “uncooked.” The second? Totally cooked! Which was the better performance? That’s for listeners to decide!

Benson’s documentary, “Super High Me,” based on a joke from his stand-up act, was released in 2007. He finished in the top six in the 2007 season of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” was a series regular on four seasons of VH1’s “Best Week Ever,” and also makes recurring appearances on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” His second “COMEDY CENTRAL Presents” half-hour special premiered in January 2009. In addition, Benson had the nerve to hit on Jennifer Aniston on the classic sitcom “Friends,” was a character on “The Sarah Silverman Program,” and got Larry David in a headlock on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He has four other CDs out on COMEDY CENTRAL Records: “The Marijuana-Logues,” “Unbalanced Load,” “Hypocritical Oaf,” and “Potty Mouth.” Benson continues to express his love of movies on his “Doug Loves Movies” podcasts (available on iTunes) and his long-running live show, “The Benson Interruption,” recently aired on COMEDY CENTRAL.
