Sundays at Space for We Love… has, of course, been James’ Ibizan home for 11 summers (and counting.) And this year in addition to his club sets he will curate 4 line-ups to play alongside him under his new label banner. The label will launch in September and will feature music that has caught JZ’s ear for both in the clubs and outside of them. It will also be an exciting blend of established and burgeoning talent.

The Born Electric line-ups include Scuba, Midland, Paul Woolford, Modeselektor Live and Simian Mobile Disco amongst others.

Of the summer’s activities James comments

“‘Born Electric’ will be a home for my own music and music I love. And some of the artists I love will be playing at We Love… Space for our very own ‘Born Electric’ parties. That’s a whole lot of love.

‘We Love… have supported me for many years and to have such a respected musical force such as them as a launching platform for Born Electric is amazing. Our outlooks on music have a lot of synergy.

“I’d say that both myself as a DJ and them as a promoter both disregard the genre in favour of just quality music that we enjoy regardless of its style and that is how out relationship has worked so well over the years.”

We Love… boss Mark Broadbent adds

“As with everything that James has a hand in I know that he will have put in a lot of love and hard work into coming up with an amazing concept for his label.

“I’m proud that he has chosen his residency with us at We Love… as the testing ground for what I’m sure will be some really interesting music and musical collaborations over the summer months.”

Preceding the opening party at Space by one day the We Love… London Opening party at Ministry Of Sound on June 9th is set to kick proceedings off with a bang. James will play the main room, joining him is Stacey Pullen whose closing set in the Discoteca last summer was nothing short of legendary. Catz ‘N Dogz also support.

Be sure to catch the We Love… podcast on the opening weekend featuring a super special mini-mix from James.
