It is hard to come forth and create your own musical style when it comes to rap music. This means that there are tons of performers that spend their entire life trying to perfect that perfect flow and simply cannot. MedEval is someone we just stumbled onto, and we’re convinced that she will break it big in 2012. She has just released her new mixtape, At Yo Neck, and is able to blend current rap styles with absolutely sick lyrics and production.

The first track on the At Yo Neck disc is Go To War, which will immediately hit listeners with strong wordplay and a sick street feel. 30 Bars immediately follows Go To War, and it is a fresh re-casting of Rich Boy’s Drop. Don’t Fuck With Me is a solid bit of gangster rap; the beat and the lyrics will be tattooed in the mind and hearts of all listening in. MedEval’s effort on At Yo Neck is reminiscent of earlier female rappers (Mia X, Gangsta Boo), but one can easily pick out influences as broad as DMX and Waka Flocka. Mixtapes are incredibly uneven, but At Yo Neck smacks listeners with hit after hit. There are a number of different styles and sounds that are crafted during this disc, a tactic that showcases all facets of MedEval while keeping the replay value high.

Make it a point to check out MedEval whenever you have a moment, and see whether she will stop down at a city around you. We’ll make sure to keep our readers up to date on the happening of this up and coming rapper – grab a copy of At Yo Neck today.
