New York City-based singer-songwriter Sarah Miles is set to head out on tour in July for 10 dates opening for Teddy Geiger (see full tour schedule below).  Says Miles of the tour:  “I am thrilled to be opening up for Teddy Geiger in July!  Teddy is such a talented musician and songwriter; I feel so lucky to have the chance to be a part of this tour.  It’s going to be so much fun, and I can’t wait to hit the road and start playing some shows.”
In addition to the dates with Geiger, Miles will be hitting the road in August in support of Jerad Finck and Ken Yates, and she also has several dates planned with Pat McGee.  Earlier in June, she shared the stage with Rachel Platten.  Miles is currently at work with producer Dave Pittenger (Allison Weiss, Julia Price, Martin Rivas) on her debut album, which will be released in 2013 via Rock Ridge Music. Prior to that, she can be heard on labelmate Todd Carey’s forthcoming EP on the song “Photograph” (set for release on July 17, 2012).
Miles, known for her killer voice, catchy pop melodies, fabulous high heels, and a hint of twang, is as enamored with the sounds of Nashville as she is with the sounds of Brooklyn.  Her songs are as youthful and lighthearted as her spirit, though her lyrics sometimes show a weightier, pensive side.
Well before iTunes sold her first EP, Solid Ground, in 2008, Miles was the youngest child ever to be admitted to the prestigious Westminster Conservatory Children’s Choir. Experienced from years of singing in a cappella groups (“Around 8” at Princeton High School and The University of Vermont “Hit Paws”) and choirs (Princeton High School Choir and Princeton Girlchoir) that toured Sweden, Newfoundland, and Toronto, and graced the White House and the “Today Show,” Miles started playing guitar and writing her own songs while she was in high school. She credits Mariah Carey, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Diane Birch, and Carrie Underwood as just some of her many musical influences.
