Sidi Touré will tour North America for the second time ever this summer in support of his new album, Koïma (released April 17 via Thrill Jockey). Last fall, Sidi was here for his first ever North American tour in support of his Thrill Jockey debut, Sahel Folk, and played such prestigious venues as New York’s Lincoln Center, Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music, and the Chicago World Music Festival. This summer, Sidi charts a dizzying, nearly two-month long run across Canada and the US playing almost a dozen festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival and a live, on-air performance at KEXP and a World Café session.

NPR Music and Pitchfork have been early supporters of Koïma; NPR provided a First Listen stream of the album and premiered the video for “Ni See Ay Ga Done” on the All Songs Considered Blog and Pitchfork premiered the first single, “Tondi Karaa.” Now, Sidi is sharing a second track, “Maïmouna,” from Koïma.
