Andrew Johnston is back at it again with an incredible new video for “Beat Down Your Stereo,” just premiering on Baeble Music. The visual piece is the second from Johnston’s critically acclaimed 2011 debut, The Wake of the Wonder Years. The video starts of with Andrew combing through Montreal’s landmark Marché Aux Puces St. Michel (thats flea market en françaises!): This is only the beginning of his journey. Picking up classic records and acoustic guitars, Johnston comes across a section of old boomboxes. Carefully selecting his victims, Andrew brings the stereos back to an abandoned former storage facility in Montreal’s Mile End neighbourhood, where he and his band mates rock out, and take out some serious aggression. The colorful film is as attention grabbing as the song is catchy, a combination that is deadly…and not only to stereos!
Andrew Johnston’s The Wake of the Wonder Years is the story of a budding musician’s journey throughout a very formative time in his career, and life: An album that has been making waves in recent months gaining everyone from Relix to Mp3.com to Baeble as fans. The ambitious and wide ranging productions feature seasoned players such as George Donoso (High Dials), bassist Alexander Lapointe (Jason Bajada) and vocalist Amanda Mabro.
Recently sharing the stage Colin Hay from Men at Work, Andrew Johnston is truly making a name for himself in the indie pop music community.
