The San Francisco Bay Area’s ambassadors of Gypsy Rock Diego’s Umbrella are thrilled to be release their most fully realized album to date, “Proper Cowboy” today on Ninth Street Opus Records.
“From top to bottom, this is an outstanding album……Original, intelligent music that sets its own boundaries. My favorite album of the year so far, and I have a feeling it will hold that spot for a long time to come.”
– EARBITS RADIO
“Proper Cowboy”  tips it’s hat to to the raucus dance parties the band played in their early days in Croatia, but is as quintessentially American as Rock and Roll itself, giving true meaning to album’s namesake. This album marks a first time collaboration with San Francisco producers The Rondo Brothers (MC Lars, Foster the People). The union has resulted in a captivating new spin on the world that the band has created; the reverb-soaked guitars and gypsy fiddles have been augmented by an army of tubas, analog synths and soaring vocals in what they are calling a “futuristic Spaghetti-Western soundtrack.”
“…a vibrant mix of Eastern European sounds and punk rock musicality,…” – THE SYNTHESIS
Diego’s Umbrella’s live show is an effortless blend of marching drums, harmonized shredding and gang choruses. Their spirited showmanship, that is both refined and  raucusly unpredictable has been winning over audiences of all sizes, from small clubs to national festivals such as Outside Lands and High Sierra Music Festival.
Diego’s Umbrella kicks off their tour today with a free show at the New Parish in Oakland, Ca.
