The acclaimed and mind-blowing Mexican masked wrestling/burlesque/comedy ensemble–which “has the pacing of a prison break” (Los Angeles Times, 3/10/12)–is hosting their TENTH ANNIVERSARY SPECTACULAR, Thursday, August 9 at the Mayan Theatre in Downtown, Los Angeles.

This show is part of LUCHA VAVOOM’s year-long 10th anniversary celebration and will feature the troupe’s trademarks: sexo (Kitten DeVille, Roky Roulette, Karis, Diamondback Annie, Lucy Fur, Ursulina, Ming Dynatease, Lux Lacroix, Bonita Labelle , Moana Santana, Leigh Acosta and The Poubelle Twins), violencia (the U.S. debut of Mexican wrestling superstar Diamante Azul, two brand new Exoticos direct from Mexico: Diva Salvaje and Cristal, Team USA, Team America, Team Gay, Team Minis and the birth of Baby Dirty Sanchez), comedy (Blaine Capatch, Jeff Davis, Tom Kenny, Dana Gould, Howard Kremer and Rev. Brown), and special guest announcer Cassandro. Halle-LUCHA!!!

Founded in Los Angeles in 2002 by Rita D’Albert and Liz Fairbairn, LUCHA VAVOOM is arguably more rock than rock and more punk than punk. It has regularly sold out 1,000-seat venues across the globe (Amsterdam, Calgary, Toronto, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Portland and Philadelphia, among many other cities). Says Russ Weakland of, “Lucha VAVOOM is the most fun you’ll ever experience. Nothing will prepare you for the circus like atmosphere and sexy dancers and acrobatic stunts of the mexican luchadores. It is the definition of fun and should not be missed.”
