Rock Ridge Music artist and singer-songwriter Ryan Humbert visited the Sirius/XM Studios in New York City last week, where he taped a five-song performance for The Coffee House (channel 31 on Sirius, channel 55 on XM), which is set to air Thursday, July 26th at noon eastern and will repeat that night at midnight.  While there, Humbert taped live versions of  “Not to Me,” “Incognito,” “Everything,” a cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “Sounds of Silence,” and his current single, “I Will Find My Own Way,” which is getting airplay on the channel several times daily.
Says Humbert of the performance opportunity:  “Being asked to come in and record an in-studio performance at the Sirius/XM offices in NYC was quite an honor.  Looking around at all of the signatures on the walls of our idols who had been there before us was very humbling.  Everyone was great to work with and the sound was incredible.  It was something we won’t ever forget.”
The Sirius/XM visit coincided with Humbert’s mini promotional tour, which saw him performing in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, last week.  Humbert is on the road in support of his latest album, Sometimes The Game Plays You, which came out of June 12, 2012.  It’s an Americana pop album with big, modern hooks steeped in the cherished heritage of great American songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams, and Bob Dylan.
Executive produced by Jill Bacon Madden and produced by Humbert in Nashville with engineer Brian Harrison (Shelby Lynne, Lucinda Williams, Garrison Starr), Sometimes The Games Plays You captures the warmth of the music live on tape. It is the follow-up to 2010’s Old Souls, New Shoes. Humbert has also released an acoustic album, two more full-length albums, and two duet albums with frequent collaborator and backup vocalist Emily Bates. He has maintained an active touring schedule with an impressive 150 shows-per-year itinerary that has had him opening for such diverse and esteemed artists as Train, Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders), Elvis Costello, Chris Isaak, Third Eye Blind, Matt Nathanson, Pete Yorn, Foreigner, The Zac Brown Band, Josh Ritter, The Gin Blossoms, and Shelby Lynne.
Confirmed Ohio tour dates are listed below.  A more extensive national tour, planned for the fall, will be announced soon.  Additionally, Humbert is set to open for labelmate Brendan James for three shows in August in Ohio and Michigan.
