– After stealing the national spotlight on the first season of NBC’s The Voice as a Top Four Finalist, Frenchie Davis will soon release her new single “Love’s Got a Hold On Me” produced by rising star Marco Borrero on Sept. 4, 2012. Today, Davis unveils two components shaping her anticipated debut “Just Frenchie” LP. First, her single cover artwork and secondly an inspiring vlog that guides viewers through her achievements in addition to snippets of her upcoming video for “Loves Got A Hold On Me.” The combination of the elements will reveal Frenchie’s undeniable talent as a solo recording artist.
With over five years of performance experience on Broadway as a cast member of Rent and the Grammy nominated revival of Ain’t Misbehavin, as well as a stint on American Idol that launched Frenchie’s amazing voice onto national television, she is making the daring move to step out on her own. “I feel that it’s coming together wonderfully, almost divinely. Everything is happening the way it’s supposed to,” says the songstress. The single will be accompanied by a visually stunning, Mad Max-inspired video directed by Ch’an Andre and Brian Friedman (Britney Spears). The song was born when Frenchie teamed up with international songwriter Janice Robinson (Ashley Tisdale, Deborah Cox) who wrote the dance track with Frenchie in mind, saying only her voice could make the record come alive.
Riding the wave of iTunes success when her cover of “When Love Takes Over” landed at #3 on the Dance Chart while on The Voice, Frenchie has turned her TV success into a thriving career. She recently established Frenchie Davis Music Group as an independent record label, assembling a team of professionals, including her manager Tiffany J. and executive assistant Nyree Neil, to hit the road at high speed. Her talents have become a fan favorite in the LGBT community, making her a highly sought after face for nationwide events and campaigns.
“Love’s Got a Hold On Me” will be the official single from Frenchie’s debut album to be released later this year. The songstress is also working on a special Christmas album for the holidays and is in talks to develop a plus-size lingerie line.
