Considered the “saviors of Swedish death metal,” ZONARIA roars back with a vengeance on the follow up to 2008’s The Cancer Empire. The band’s first release for Listenable Records, Arrival of the Red Sun is a peerless example of extreme melodic death metal. Featuring performances by recently added members Caleb Bingham (guitar) and Max Malmer (bass), both formerly of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, Arrival of the Red Sun was recorded by Jonas Kjellgren at Abyss Studios and mixed by Ronnie Björnström at Garageland Studios. Selections from the album are streaming on the band’s Facebook page.

“The time of Zonaria has come and before the year is out we will all worship at their altar for this is an astounding record from start to finish.” – SonicAbuse.com

“The riffs are razor sharp, with infectious hooks and gratuitous pig squeals-propped up by fat bass, frenetic drums and with Simon Berglund’s mid-ranged growls and Dimmu Borgir-like keys and orchestrations sailing over the rest. Yup, it’s Swedish melodic death metal (with keys).” [4/5] – Angry Metal Guy
