Long Island four piece rock outfit returns to Vudu Studios to complete
their self titled debut EP

Patchogue, NY – This past weekend, Long Island’s newest buzz worthy
band Walking Sideways laid down the final tracks on what they hope
will become an enduring masterpiece – their self titled six song debut
EP. The songs, which are all self-produced, were recorded and mixed by
Mike Watts at Vudu Studios in Port Jefferson, NY over the course of
the last nine months. The first three, Innocent Mistake, Haven and
Magellan, were recorded and released earlier this year to critical
acclaim as a singles CD; for this release these tunes will be combined
with the three new compositions being recorded; Addiction, Undecided,
and On the Porch (which stretch the spectrum of the types of sounds
that the band can deliver musically) making for a very diverse set of
songs on the 6-track EP.

Singer/guitarist and chief songwriter Erik Hagedorn gives some insight
into the new tunes: “Undecided unveils the issues of a failing
relationship involving one party desiring to hear words of affirmation
to hold themselves together, while the other realizes that there’s
just nothing left to say. The song was written through the lens of
Native American culture. ‘Addiction’ takes listeners on a journey of
understanding two types of addictions- the bad kind, and the good
kind. The lyrics jump hurtles with comparing a mother’s desiring love
for drugs, her daughters desiring love for her mother, and God’s
desiring love for the both of them. On the Porch hits close to home
with the idea that from the edges of the atmosphere right to the front
porch, true love travels long distances and takes patient time to be
revealed. And that when you find it, it just might be smoking a cig!”
