Listen to Jonquil’s new Daytrotter Session

Oxford, UK-based quartet Jonquil has released Rush Midnight (of Twin Shadow)100% Silk’s Fort Romeau, and Jonquil’s own Hugo Manuel (a.k.a. Chad Valley) remixes of ‘Mexico,’ available for free download here. The original single is taken from the band’s Point Of Go album, out now viaDovecote Records (The FutureheadsHooray For Earth) and Blessing Force internationally. After Jonquil’s first nationwide tour this spring with Keep Shelly In Athens, including sets at SXSW ’12and a sold-out NYC show with Snow Patrol, the band is preparing for a stretch of European dates this fall.

Following the calypso-pop One Hundred Suns EP last year, Point of Go is Jonquil’s “most accessible record to date,” says USA Today. It’s an infectious collection of “floating chords and memorable melodies, but approaches each song in a way that feels familiar yet continuously surprises the listener (Paste).” The quartet has been noted as an American Songwriter ‘Band to Watch, and has been praised by The FADERNYLON, and RCRD LBL among others.
