Shock’s debut “Heaven” is out now

Shock specializes in live riffing and phenomenal grooves, evoking the feel of sleek electronic funk and warm emotional pop. The gentle brush of a wind-chime signals a mental journey from the pyramids to the ocean, where vocals and guitar are surrounded by warm synth layers, deep bass, and electric rhythms. The live Shock performance humanizes the dance-club and evokes a new-age experience that is both contemporary and classic.

“Heaven” is Shock’s debut single, which features a hypnotic house groove, a primal bass line, and shimmering guitar layers. Terri Loewenthal’s (Rubies) mysterious and seductive vocals are complemented by novel production from Dan Judd (Sorcerer/Windsurf) and the alluring guitar work of Michael Taras. Sleek and inviting, “Heaven” is laced with a romantic melancholy reminiscent of the classic disco and house eras. The “Heaven” 12″ features remixes by Shock’s friends: The Beat Broker, Hatchback, and Steve Moore (Lovelock/Zombi). These versions perfectly compliment the original and expand the music into complete universal harmony.

Be on the lookout for new music from Shock in 2013.

Fervent Record’s Big Daddy Weave secures the top spot on both the NCA and Christian AC Monitored charts with “Redeemed” this week. Only five other songs have captured the No. 1 spot on the NCA chart this year. “Redeemed,” their second release from Love Come to Life, hit the No. 1 spot on the Christian AC Indicator chart last month making it the band’s sixth career No. 1. The song is also a hit on YouTube as fans have driven the video up to over one million views.

“When my friend Benji Cowart and I got together via Skype to write the song ‘Redeemed,’ I had no idea even when we finished the song that God would do what He’s done with this!” commented Big Daddy Weave’s Mike Weaver. “In my mind it was just some closure to a really rough season in my walk with Jesus. Only God can take what we’re most ashamed of and turn it into victory! I’m so thankful for the way He’s used this song in the lives of so many and I continue to thank Him daily that the words of this song are true in my life.”

Big Daddy Weave is one of the top ten most played artists on Christian radio over the past decade. “Redeemed,” written by Mike Weaver and Benji Cowart, is their third best-selling song since the band’s formation in 2002. They are currently on “The Redeemed Tour” with recording artist Aaron Shust and are scheduled to hit the following cities:

November 1:             Rome Capitol Theatre, Rome, NY

November 2:             Hamburg Wesleyan Church, Hamburg, NY

November 3:             Davis and Elkins College Auditorium, Elkins, WV

SKROG Unleashes The Global Elite Today

The Global Elite, the debut album from Minneapolis industrial metal war machine SKROG, is now available on CD format. The album can be purchased at and is also available as a digital download at

Check out this interview with SKROG mastermind Jay Reiter on Tragedy Axe.

SKROG is the work of vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/composer Jay Reiter and The Global Elite is an explosive, damning account of the current state of American politics and policies. Sonically speaking, SKROG draws influence from bands spanning a wide musical spectrum of dark music – from the dance/techno styles of LORD OF ACID, SKINNY PUPPY, and FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY all the way to SLAYER, MINISTRY, CHIMAIRA, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, and CANNIBAL CORPSE. Indeed, elements of black metal, death metal, doom, and thrash can all be heard in one form or another on The Global Elite.  In SKROG Reiter has developed a means of pushing industrial metal into a more modern and aggressive form of music.

SKROG recently posted a video for “Dark Metamorphosis” at this location.

Birds In Row announce UK tour this December

Birds In Row have announced a string of dates in the UK this winter. Check out the dates below!

Birds In Row are a melodic yet abrasive band from Laval, France.  Blurring the lines between hardcore, punk, and related sub-genres, Birds In Row truly offer something of substantial emotional weight to their listeners. Collectively carrying somber hearts and poignant souls, they navigate through melancholic seas to shape beautifully hook-laden songs unlike anything else out there today.

You, Me, & The Violence is the latest masterpiece from Birds In Row. The album explodes out of the gates with “Pilori”, a sonic crash and bang statement of personal independence among with society’s faults and fractures. Birds In Row then continue down this road, expressing disdain and struggle in songs like “Cages”, “Guillotine”, and “Walter Freeman”. All of them musically harboring a beautiful tangle of emotional vocals and distortion. And just when it feels like the album is almost too overpowering, Birds In Row unfurl a moment of musical clarity in “Last Last Chance”, a haunting guitar and vocal break. Their collective control of their dynamics is masterful work. “You, Me, & The Violence” and “Grey Hair” are near perfect examples of this, naturally shifting between searing and serene in tone. If you weren’t in awe of Birds In Row in the first eleven songs, the twelve minute closer “Lovers Have Their Say” will leave you floored, as it is an ominous epic that artistically unwinds in truly spectacular fashion.
