007 Legends is stylistically based off of last year’s GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, but the engine has been polished up and made into a title that feels fresh and familiar. The title shines on the differentiation of game play styles that are available to players. There are missions that will have players taken to the limit in terms of defense, assault missions, and even keeping 007 off the radar. The artificial intelligence of the enemies requires players to create a solid set of plans before blindly moving through a corridor or entrance. The controls do not add to this difficulty; there is an intuitiveness to moving, shooting, and otherwise operating Bond that will take a short time to learn but a considerable amount of hours to master.

Where I believe that 007 Legends has the most legs has to be in the multiplayer mode. The variety of weapons that are available to players are differentiated to the point that certain roles are better suited with different armaments. The reduction of the visuals into a split screen is solid; there is a crispness present even in these reduced dimensions that simply is not found in other games in this genre. The voice acting and overall character design in 007 Legends is strong, with Dame Judi Dench voicing M and models for Jinx, Auric Goldfinger, and Hugo Drax making up perfectly with their silver-screen counterparts.

I believe the variation that is present between the different levels in 007 Legends is able to transfer players from their lives into some of the best and most memorable Bond films. Make sure to check out 007 Legends when it next month for the Wii U, as well as the missions that have been generated for the upcoming Skyfall.
