“Like urban explorers, Brooklyn post-rock duo ERAAS haunt the gloomy husks of krautrock, darkwave, industrial and dreampop, finding pulsing life within them… The immaculate production, full of audible space and teeming with intricate layers, is part of the reason, but most of it is due to the duo’s keen command of their style. The result is a clean draught of weird beauty.” – eMusic

“In the years following the dissolution of that original band, Toher and Stawiarz have reconvened as ERAAS. The new alias sees the pair swerving into darker territory, jettisoning the more song-based elements of the Apse repertoire in favour of spooky, rhythmic mood pieces… there’s a delicacy of touch at play that gives ERAAS some degree of distinction.” – FACT

“The Greenpoint band ERAAS knows a thing or two about the dark. Their self-titled debut is all doom-drone darkness, but on “Briar Path” they transcend their genre for a foray into minimal indie groove. Think Animal Collective, but on muscle relaxers.” – NBC New York

“a whole lot of stark Factory Records undertow working for it.” – Stereogum

“…blends seamlessly with its driving bass riffs, disquieting synthscapes, and quietly wailing vocals.” – Pitchfork (on “Briar Path”)

“From the ashes of post-rock aesthetes Apse comes ERAAS. With frontman Robert Toher and co-songwriter Austin Stawiarz remaining, the act assumes a more silvery, esoteric, and minimalist shape, as ethereal vocals recalling The Knife slither around sinewy bass groves and stray glass synth shards.” – Under the Radar
