Marc Houle is set to embark on a US tour, heading stateside in November and kicking off proceedings where else than his old backyard party playground of Detroit.
It’s fair to say that Marc has travelled a long way from his 1997 residency at Richie Hawtin’s club “13 Below” in Detroit. From joining the legendary Minus label, and setting down roots in Berlin to launching breakthrough label Items & Things alongside A&R partners Magda & Troy Pierce, not to mention releasing several successful albums and a string of hard-hitting track along the way. Through all of this his synth-driven techno sound has continued to grow, evolve and surprise – nestled somewhere between Chicago & Detroit, with a new-wave underbelly. Nowhere is this growth more evident than in the tracks that make up ‘Undercover’, his latest album which was released in February 2012 on Items & Things, and his recent synth-driven ‘Raid Over Moscow’ project on Turbo.
But it’s during Marc’s live performances where his diverse tastes and genre-bending really reign supreme, with no two sets ever the same, except perhaps, for their ability to impress the crowd. With performances planned in Detroit, Miami, New York and Denver and more to follow soon, the US tour starts on 09 November.
09 November @ Paxahau/TV Bar, Detroit, United States
10 November @Treehouse, Miami, United States
16 November @ Verboten, New York, United States
