Butter is a hilarious film that looks into a vital substance to the American breakfast table – Butter. There is a competitive butter sculpting scene that has just lost one of its finest competitors, Bob (Ty Burrell, Modern Family).

Bob’s wife (Jennifer Garner, The Invention of Lying) enters the competition in order to restore the family name. The drama and intrigue that is present in competitive butter sculpting could easily be the equivalent of the 2012 election, but even the tenseness present on an everyday basis is booster when Destiny (Yara Shahidi, The First Family and Salt) looks to take the title away from Laura. Butter is rounded out with the inclusion of Hugh Jackman as clueless ex-boyfriend Boyd, and Destiny’s parents (Rob Corddry and Alicia Silverstone).
Butter is the furthest away from a formulaic film; viewers will be utterly shocked with how the movie is wrapped up. The dynamic between the two families is intense while being moderated when confronted face to face. There are a few bonuses to be had on the Blu-Ray release of Butter. There are a few scenes provided with additional footage, while the gag reel is absolutely vital for anyone that wishes to get a more personable view of the cast and crew.

Butter is an utterly compelling movie that is able to contain both absurd and traditional contexts and weave them into something that viewers will be able to identify with. The rosy tones used by Michael De Luca on the sets and the cast give this a suburbia-heavy feel. Make sure to pick Butter up at your local (well-stocked) video store or video distribution websites.
