Two of Topshelf Records finest, Baltimore, MD’s Diamond Youth and Chicago, IL’s Cut Teeth, have been announced as support (along with Into It. Over It.) for the recently reunited Braid’s midwest run of dates on the Frame & Canvas Tour. The bands will open for the seminal indie band in Milwaukee, Detroit and Chicago (see dates below).

Heavily influenced by “90’s alternative music, skateboarding, and girls,” and such bands as Weezer, Foo Fighters, QOTSA and the Beach Boys, Diamond Youth recently toured with Misser and Young Statues and just wrapped up dates with the Swellers.

Cut Teeth rose from the ashes of each members previous bands (The Felix Culpa, Stay Ahead of the Weather, Red Knife Lottery, Monday’s Hero) and the result is an aggressively angular, riff-laden amalgamation of the four members’ stylistic backgrounds, often hearkening back to some familiar Chicago and D.C.-area bands from the early to mid-nineties while managing to breathe some much needed fresh air into the scene.

Diamond Youth has been working on their debut EP with producer Brian McTernan, which will be out in early 2013, while Cut Teeth is out in support of their recent Topshelf release Televandalism, with a LP due out next year.
