When’s the last time you heard a song that you instantly replayed for the rest of the day? That was our reaction to this Roane Namuh remix of The Love Loungers cover of the Esther Williams bboy classic ‘Last Night Changed It All’ which sounds like something Dam-Funk would make if he played with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. This is the sound of the future of nu-disco or space boogie or whatever you want to call the combo of funk/soul/house and hip-hop that makes this new chill vibe sound. Plus the vocal sample is delicious. Yeah, we called it delicious.
Roane Namuh – who some might know as the Amish looking producer/dj from Portland, OR that has played with Mark Ronson, Odd Future’s side project The Internet, Quadron, Brainfeeder’s Thundercat and a ton of others – has had his work featured on BBC, KISS FM, VIBE, URB, GQ and a few other places that are oddly only written with capital letters.
